Woodcraft Folk is an educational movement for children and young people, designed to develop self confidence and activity in society, with the aim of building a world based on equality, friendship, peace and cooperation.
Woodcraft Folk are looking for group leaders and helpers for our Glasgow Kelvingrove groups. There are 4 groups for children and young people of differing age ranges from under 6's to 13-16's. The groups meet one evening a week in term time but may organise day trips and camps in school holidays. Our groups aim to develop children and young people's confidence and awareness of the world. We promote big ideas like equality, co-operation and environmental sustainability through fun activities. We do a wide range of activities including games, craft, exploring nature, bushcraft, drama, discussions and songs. As well as weekly group nights we take part in day events and camps with groups from across Scotland. We will provide induction information, taster sessions and training opportunities. Ideally we are looking for volunteers who can commit weekly, during term time. Glasgow Kelvingrove meet on a Wednesday evening. If you are able to help less regularly we would still be interested in hearing from you. PVG scheme record check required, expenses covered.
