Empowering Neurodivergent Voices

Rated 5/5 (1 person). Log in to rate.

Join our new student consultants' group - NeuroConnections!

We are looking for passionate students to contribute their ideas and experiences to improve the inclusion of autistic and neurodiverse students. As part of this initiative, we’re working towards achieving an ‘Autism Inclusion’ accreditation from the National Autistic Society. This is your chance to make a real difference!

What is an accreditation?

Accreditation is a formal recognition that proves an organisation's commitment and ability to provide excellent services for specific needs. By earning this accreditation, the Students’ Association will enhance support for neurodiverse students across campus, creating a more inclusive environment for everyone.

Who can join?

This opportunity is open to all students who identify as neurodivergent or autistic. Whether you’ve experienced challenges or have great ideas for improving inclusion, we want to hear from you!

How to get involved

It’s simple – just email us at citysa@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk to let us know you'd like to join or complete this form

What will you do?

As a member of this group, you’ll have the chance to:

  • Attend in-person meetings with other students
  • Share your unique thoughts, opinions, and experiences
  • Suggest practical solutions to make the college more inclusive
  • Engage in meaningful discussions with like-minded peers

All meetings will be facilitated to ensure both written and verbal communication is equally included, creating a space where everyone’s voice is heard.

When will we meet?

The group will meet every Thursday from 16:30 to 17:30, starting on 13th February and ending on 3rd April. We understand life can be busy, so don’t worry about attending all sessions. Check out the schedule below to see which meetings you’d like to attend.

What if in-person meetings aren’t accessible for me?

We understand that not everyone can attend group meetings in person. If that's the case for you, we’re happy to arrange a 1:1 meeting where you can share your thoughts on how we can improve autism and neurodiversity inclusion at the Students’ Association. Email us at citysa@cityofglasgowcollege.ac.uk to request this option.
