About Us

Come along if you are interested in acting, filmmaking, or both! The TV & Filmmaking Network is a hobby group aimed at creating an inclusive environment for those who want to develop skills in the media industry, such as filmmaking, acting, and directing. Meet like-minded students, develop skills, and share knowledge and experience together. Learn more about working with cameras, editing videos, and creating short documentary or drama films. It's not a class, so there's no hard requirement beyond wanting to be involved.

You can join this network regardless of the previous experience, as everyone is welcome to learn and share.

Bringing a camera of your own is very welcome, but it's not necessary!

What to expect and how to join?

After clicking the joining button, you will be added to a Network Hub, where you can communicate with other members and see updates about the network. All the updates will be posted by Polly, your Vice President Social and Activities or a Network Lead. Network leads are students who will set up and organise the network's meetings. They also help the Students' Association to promote and run their network.

The group is discussing their favourite films and shows on Canvas, so join now to not miss it!

Looking for a Network Lead

The photography and filmmaking network is looking for two network leads, both of whom are required to be media, photography, or TV students to access the equipment and editing software. Check the Volunteering Hub if you’re interested in the role.

Network lead is a responsible role that opens you an opportunity to learn new skills and achieve a volunteering certificate by the end of the year.

One of our network leads said, "Being a network lead will really improve your social, leadership, and communication skills for the area that you want to be a network lead for.”
