This map is designed to help students identify useful locations in the city where they can find support and resources. We have concentrated on the city centre and locations close to our College campuses.
To use the map, hover or click/tap on the pins to find out their address. Many of the locations have website addresses – click on the link of each organisation to find out more information about it.
The resources cover the following categories:
Key Help
This covers our College campuses, where you can find the library, learning environment and Student Services.
In the Community
This section aims to display useful charities and organisations which offer a range of services; for example food banks, community meals, social meet up’s, family services and financial advice.
WiFi and Computers
These points identify where you can access free WiFi. Glasgow Libraries offer free WiFi and computer access to anyone with a library card. It is free to sign up for library services as long as you can provide proof of current address. Other locations pinned in this section are café’s and businesses which offer free internet access, usually via a simple sign in process on your phone/laptop device. Some businesses may expect you to pay for a tea/coffee before allowing you to sign in.
Places of Worship
This section displays a number of places of worship in Glasgow – although there may be more in your local community that we have not identified. Places of worship may also offer activities, social events, support, and community meals.
Please check out the business page/social media of individual organisations to find out more information. Student safety is our highest concern. To keep yourselves and others safe, please check out the Scottish Government website for more up-to-date information and guidelines.
Please note that these reference points are subject to change, and City of Glasgow College cannot take responsibility for changing circumstances or decisions made by these organisations. This map is designed to help our students get to know Glasgow better and find out about accessing resources in the community, but the decision to contact/visit organisations listed is the students’ responsibility.
